DC fans think they’ve seen Christian Bale’s Batman

DC released the trailer for The flash – and sleuths are convinced they’ve discovered a big surprise.

The film, which was shot in 2021, will be released this year after a series of controversies surrounding its protagonist, Ezra Miller.

On Sunday (February 12), the upcoming release’s promotional campaign kicked off after the first trailer dropped during the Super Bowl.

Several recognizable faces appear in the images, including that of Michael Shannon Man of Steel villain Zod, Ben Affleck’s Batman/Bruce Wayne and, most excitingly, Michael Keaton’s version of the Caped Crusader.

Keaton was known to have taken over the role for the plank bat girl movie, but it was believed that his appearance in The flash had been cut.

However, if two versions of Batman in one movie weren’t enough, fans are convinced there’s another one hidden in the trailer.

At one point, a shot of an unseen figure riding a Batpod is shown, and eagle-eyed viewers believe this vehicle to be the one driven by Christian Bale in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

“Is this Christian Bale as Batman in the Flash movie?” writer @WhitlockandPope wrote and shared a screenshot of the moment.

“Anyone else thinks they’re provoking a Christian Bale Batman with some of the shots and that batcycle?” @theharriot added, with @PaulMWest writing: “Holy s***, was that Christian Bale?! No other movie had that unique Batpod.”

Others emphasized the fact that they thought they heard some echoes of Hans Zimmer’s Dark Knight score in the trailer.

However, many argued that if Bale were to star in the film, it would be a foolish decision to include him in the trailer as it would ruin the film’s surprise.

The flashdirected by It filmmaker Andrés Muschietti, has had a rough journey to release the movie because of the headlines about Miller, which included arrests and reports of erratic behavior that stretched from Hawaii to Vermont.

The allegations Miller has faced include strangling a woman in a bar in Iceland in 2020 and grooming and “psychologically manipulating” an 18-year-old from North Dakota.

They recently apologized for their actions, saying they have begun ongoing treatment for “complex mental health issues”.

The flash will be released in cinemas on June 16.
